A little "end of March Break" attitude update...a follow up to Requiring Guidance (From Monday)
- No more American Yahoo groups. I'll miss you but I'm not enjoying you right now. This didn't work so well. I did cut back but I can't seem to stop myself from checking. Nothing like watching the adoption dreams of fellow PAP's go up in smoke to set a person on edge.
- A few good trashy novels. Bought 3, read half of 1. I have the attention span of a gnat.
- A few bright sunbeams. I'm into this. The sun is my newest drug of choice. I'm sitting in a warm sunbeam right this very moment. I can't wait to spend recess or lunch break in the school's Butterfly Garden. Here's hoping I can sit there quietly and contemplate my baby's photo some time this spring.
- Lots of dog walking. Big hairy dog with long belly hair does not go well with temperatures above freezing and sandy/salty sidewalks but we are getting out to mostly snow covered park areas several times each day to blow away the cobwebs of despair...
- Possible nephew cuddling. I put this off in hopes I can meet up with baby M on Easter weekend. Could only pull a one nighter this week so I gave it up in lieu on 2 or 3 nights next weekend.
- And a waiting mommies dinner on Friday. See below for my dessert choice of the evening. Worth EVERY.SINGLE.CALORIE. and I practically licked the bowl (but not quite).
CHOCOLATE MOLTEN LAVA CAKE 5.99
Divine chocolate cake, enrobed in chocolate and filled with a dark chocolate truffle.
Served wickedly warm, surrounded by vanilla frozen yogurt,
and topped with whipped cream and a cherry.
Delightfully decadent!
Overall I'm better rested and mostly sane after my March Break. I'm not going to lie, even in my worst case scenario adoption timeline I was home with Benjaminh for the third term of this school year. Now I am just hopeful that I will not be starting another new school year in September waiting for a referral. That would be 3 Septembers of waiting.
I signed on with the agency in July 2006.
I'd like a referral by early July 2008.
That will give the agency a couple of months plus a bit more to get me to Vietnam and back before all of my new documents expire...again...
2 years for a program predicted to be 6-9 months or FASTER (if you were open to a boy).
I'm being generous here.
What other option do I have???

Dearest Bev,
I am happy to read that you didn't waste your March break on Trashy Novels but indulged in a warm chocolatey fix that just leaves my mouth watering!
