We had a crappy day... (photos at the end)

Literally.
From morning to night every diaper was a disaster.
About 8 or 10 disasters in total.
Worrisome.
Teething?
Yesterday's introduction to oranges?
A bug?

The dude was sickly to say the least.
Whinier than usual.
Unhappy about diaper changes as the best of times today he developed acrobatic diaper defensive skills usually seen in the 'terrible two" set.

I called telehealth for some advice
her: Stop food and formula and feed only pedialyte for 6 hours...
me: ummm, dude doesn't do liquids, he aspirates liquids
her: you will have to make an exception, he needs the pedialyte
me: he doesn't physically have the ability to swallow liquids
her: give him pedilyte popsicles
me: when those melt, in his mouth, they will probably be LIQUID

Yikes...
anyway, in the absence of any other indications of illness at all (no fever, no loss of energy or decrease in activity, bright eyes, lots to say...) I'm waiting and seeing until morning and have continued to feed his rice thickened formula and even lived on the edge and served him a bit of toast twice today.

Here are some photos of my poor sick boyduring our lead up to bedtime...

Looks pretty good, eh?

He is the happiest little sick dude I have ever seen!!! I am not sure his little bottom is quite so happy though! Hopefully, he will be on the mend very soon. Apparently, there is a virus(many many students at our school have it) with the same icky issue. Maybe it is the same virus. Good luck!

I bet you it was the oranges combined with teething. You are right not to panic, if he seems fine otherwise don't worry.
Glad the photos at the end weren't actually of the crap....

uh yeah, looks terribly sick! haha... as a nurse can i just say that if that is his only symptom and he obviously can't take liquids then just feed him more of a bland diet until his gut calms down. sounds like you are doing that with his cereal and toast is great!! good job mom.

He does seem happy- must be the teething/orange combo. Aiden has had many disaster diapers lately and I'm thinking it's his first molar. And the diaper defensive? I have resorted to putting the diaper on backwards sometimes because it's just not worth the fight...

And, check to see if you can find electrolyte strips- our CVS carries their own brand. Their like the breath mint strips. Always good to have on hand.
