Everyone has noticed. Even the dog.
This week's new talents include:
running, full tilt, behind the dump truck walker (on concrete of course...)
walking long distances and correcting balance when necessary
turning corners and simply turning around
and finally...
carrying things while you walk
like mama's dirty laundry or the toy you just stole from the dog
Yesterday as we were "walking" through the neighbourhood little Owen said"Finally, you've taught him to walk." And here I was thinking walking through the neighbourhood, no hand holding, no stumbling, was a big deal for 2 weeks past the 12 month mark. Apparently not to a 6 year old...he had been wondering what was taking Benjaminh so long!
Does it worry me? Yes. Is there anything I can do about it? No.
I'm sure his small appetite is related to his thickened bottles. 4 tablespoons of rice pablum in every bottle...4 - 5 oz bottles per day but the process of lessening the thickening is ongoing. Over months. So I offer a variety of food, hope he tastes a bit of everything, and recognize he is growing and thriving and try not to dwell on it.
He will be on formula rather than milk for several more months to make sure he is getting all of the nutrients he requires.
In other news...Benjaminh meets the childcare provider tomorrow. I've know this sweet lady for 17 years. She provides care to children who attend my school and when I decided to adopt I asked her right away if she would provide care for my little family. That was 3 years ago this month.

I can't wait to see him walking! I love that shirt by the way. So cute.
