The long and winding road

Julia and Danny leave in about an hour to journey to the other side of the world to meet sweet Molly.  The journey to this point has been so very long, fraught with heartbreak and loss beyond imagine, graced with strength and endurance not often seen in the human animal and blessed by new love.

The last 2 hours were especially thrilling due to errors by various people that only became apparent at the airport (let's all blame each other...it is a game the first grade boys play).

Bottom line?

With exactly 1 hour until departure Julia called me to announce that they ALL (mommy, daddy and grandma) get to board the flight to Molly.

If you are the praying type please take a moment to send your prayers their way.  Please pray that everything goes smoothly from this point forward.

Other positive thought techniques accepted here include (but are not limited to):
wishing on stars
blowing out candles
crossing body parts
putting pennies in left shoes
throwing salt over your shoulder (or something like that)
ummm???

add ideas in the comments and we can grow this wishing list

Fly safe my friends.

I am soooo happy they are all on that plane! there's always something to make getting there very stressful. I'll pray for things to go smoothly from here on out.

I can't wait to read her blog!

I liked the grade one boy analogy. Let's just leave it at that shall we?

My thing is to say to whomever is listening, "I will not eat another piece of chocolate or anything with white sugar in it, if you promise to make everything run smoothly from here on in for J, D, Grandma and M"

Funny - even before I read Liz's comment I was thinking along these lines...

Striking deals. Dear God - if you would be so kind. I will engage in acts of kindness on a daily basis for as long as I can hang in (minumum two weeks) - truly I will. If you could just see fit to watch over these three.

How wonderful they are at long last on their way to precious Molly. I know that in the near future, as soon as they hold Molly in their arms, this will all fade into the past, but in the mean time, I too will pray that all goes well.
