Best Day Evah!

Ben and I were invited to Maya's house (and S and M's house too...) to enjoy a picnic with some other kiddies born in Vietnam.  We even got to meet wee Chinn who has been home a short short time.  But seriously?  The whole point of the trip in Ben's mind is the horses.  Seeing the horses.  Counting the horses.  Talking about how they are the same or different than his friends Razzle and Star.  And RIDING horses.  Ask him tonight how his day went begins to gallop about the room as he neighs uncontrollably.  Enthusiastically.   Loudly.  With abandon.

He took the riding very seriously.  He followed the barn rules of no yelling, no running and immediate obedience if M says Stop.

He calmly watched as I adjusted the far too big helmet so that it was at least snug under his chin (2 year olds don't typically start riding lessons...so the helmets were all on the big side).

He watched the process of readying the horses intently.  He was very interested in how Maya picked out Joey's hooves.

Once outside at the sand ring he was ready to go first.

He held the reigns just so.  He sat tall in the saddle.  He learned to say whoa to stop his horse and he now clicks his tounge with the best of them to make his horse go.  He loved every single second...stoic faced though he may seem at times.  He loved it enough that he went on a second ride on the other pony.

He loved every minute until the finale...getting OFF the horses.  He really didn't like that part and made sure everyone knew.  And then we went home and he fell asleep before the car left the stable driveway.
Best Day EVAH...
Followed up with a bit of bubble joy.
And a deep peaceful sleep (that will hopefully last until after 8am).

Aiden chose to yell yee-haw on his first pony ride today. Looks like Ben had fun. Great pictures!

Being a horse lover and a rider for many years (sadly not right now) I love seeing Ben on the pony at 2 :) I used to teach little ones and adults at a barn in the UK. So much fun!
