8/365...wishing on stars (updated with last year's link)

Somehow, somewhere the stars aligned and early in June, 2008, my son was born.
About the same time I was told of a "tentative match".
For 7 months and 5 days I waited.

One year ago today, I held him in my arms for the very first time
and I felt complete.

He is everything to me.
My moon, my stars, my universe.
And I am so grateful.
To so many.  For so much.

It is a glorious privilege to live, to know, to act, to listen,
to behold, to love.  To look up at the blue summer sky;
to see the sun sink slowly beyond the line of the horizon;
to watch the worlds come twinkling into view, first one

by one, and the myriads that no man can count, and lo!
the universe is white with them; and you and I are here.
