Lots of last minute paperwork.
Lots of worrying, wondering and waiting for email answers from those who know the answers...
Like, does it matter that you used the incorrect spelling of my first name on my airline tickets?
Should I be worried about traveling home alone with sweet Benjaminh and experiencing a 15 hour layover in Korea?
Oh, employer dear, you need my parental leave forms and supporting documentation RIGHT NOW? Signed by the principal in the middle of vacation?
Most everything is under control.
I have investigated the Korean Airport and quite frankly it is somewhere I can probably keep busy for 15 hours. And it helps that they are Asian daytime hours. 6 hours for 39 American Bucks in a transit hotel will certainly help as will a copious number of Infant rest rooms. I'll survive.
I'm assuming I will hear from someone tomorrow morning about the spelling error in my name. If I don't I can assure you that they will be hearing from me.
Almost all of the required paperwork is at the board office.
Now, employment insurance paperwork.
Next week I guess.

Employment paperwork is easy as pie... 15 hours in a Korean airport sounds exciting and exhausting. I just can't wait until you are at the airport at home, smiling in an exhausted way... grateful to be home with your baby boy... I CAN'T WAIT!
Camera - do you have your camera...and more memory sticks that you can imagine needing:)
Me too I say it will be so exciting to have you home.
But also I know you will treasure every minute in your boy's beautiful city ~ this is all so grand. The town will be dressed to the nines in celebration of your family and (of course) Tet.

Definitely get the hotel- we only had a 10 hour layover at LAX but it was worth every penny.
Our agency said the name on the tickets needs to be the same as the name on the passport - something I really had to check as husband Woody is really Wolter, but Mom Judi's legal name of Sylvia Judith is not on her passport.
That being said - you have LOTS and LOTS of time to get that fixed!
Come on, you know you are a paperwork GURU. This is the easy stuff.
I wish we could travel with you - and not just because you are going so soon!
In Hawaii, where I had a 12 hour layover once, I was able to "rent" a room there. Small bed, bathroom, shower. Etc. It made ALL the difference. You should see if that can be done in Seoul!
Oh, and it was IN the airport....
I don't know what to tell you about the name misspelling on the airline tickets since we didn't have that specific problem; but our last name is rather uncommon (in the US, anyway) and gets misspelled ALL THE TIME, and it has never really presented much of a problem. Seriously, I can't tell you how many checks I've cashed with our name totally misspelled on them, and nobody ever bats an eye. So, hopefully, they'll be able to get the name thing fixed for you easily, no big deal.
We just came back a month ago from South Korea and the airport in Incheon is huge and very nice! There is even a nursery with cribs, changing tables, and hot water.
We also had our last name spelled incorrectly on our tickets (an e was missing) and we didn't have any difficulty at all. They pointed it out to us on the way back, but were not concerned about it. Congrats on your baby boy and have a trip of a lifetime!
That airport is amazing. They have a hotel, spa and just about every store that you can think of.
