Firsts and Favourites

Dude loves trains.  He begs to see one on our commute each day and is despondent when none appear.  He can play with his little wooden trains for hours and hours.  Now dude has a brand spanking new train table.  He had a kijiji table then the new one, containing all the extras santa is bringing to chez Ben, came on sale. So I re-kijiji-ed the original table for the same price and bought new.  The big man with the snow white beard and hohoho postal code snuck into my car late at night and took some of the important bits out for later but the table is up and running and dearly loved.

Here is the building team.  Can I say THANK GOD for the building team?  Cause seriously?  Could not have done it myself with Ben helping.

And the after building beverage.

and 10:25?  It's the "yes it is a school night but what the hell bedtime".

That was Thursday.

Then something spectacular occurred.  I went out Friday night.  Alone.  Like without Ben.  The builder and his mama watched Ben...for hours and hours and hours and I loved every single flippin second of it.  And I'm already planning the next outing.  On the downside?  Bedtime was just about as late.  Yikes.

Saturday rolled around and it was busy busy busy.  Fun and friends and fabulous food.  Including but not limited to Ben's first ever chocolate iced donut (well a third of a donut anyway).  And it wasn't just any donut.  It was one from a sweet little bakery in a quaint little central ontario town.  When we visit in a couple of weeks for Christmas in the Country I'm thinking he might get to try another donut (well, another third anyway).  He like it that much.

Today?  Shopped for size 7 1/2 double extra wide stride rites and failed miserably.  Oh well, off to the specialty store in the very near future because dude is having a foot spurt...if there is such a thing.  And we craft showed a bit and toy shopped for a couple of upcoming birthdays and just had fun.

No nap today...that was sad.  But bedtime?  Not 10:15 but rather 7:15 and mama liked it.

So?  Overall?  A lovely weekend filled with fun.  More fun filled (probably too full) weekends to come.

Oh I'm glad you got the train table! and I'm equally glad that mama finally got a night out!

Did you mean to say foot spurt? Because if so then yes, there is such a thing, I know because we went through one. They went from size 5 to size 7 in the span of weeks.

Was it his first chocolate? Or his first doughnut? Or just first time both together?
