Had em. Seen em.
The way they radiate down the spine then climb around the body
from the spine towards the front
like nasty ribs in your rib cage.
They hurt.
They make you cranky.
Itchy.
You get feverish...
See where this is going?
Straight to the walk in clinic...with moments to spare.
In fact they unlocked the door for me.
Long story short...
fever of 38.8.
looks like shingles.
isn't shingles.
hives.
could it be the hep b shot?
maybe, but probably not.
other options?
who bloody knows.
And the benedryl?
bubblegum flavour?
prince cranky pants is not a fan.
eh....I'll save the good news for later.

N is coming through a 7 month stint with hives that started in September, got worse until January then started tappering off and now he rarely breaks out. After 2 months he was diagnosed with chronic hives and got in to see the allergist just in time to have her say it was the result of some 'virus'. He reacted as much to the histimine scratch as to the allergin scratches. I feel for you!
Glad it's not shingles and that you got to the walk-in in time to have that confirmed! Hoping the good news is very good.
Thinking of you and little Ben.
Arg! Get well soon
Oh, poor Ben and poor you! I pray for some answers for you....and a healthy happy little boy again!!
Wow, I didn't even know kids could have shingles... I somehow thought it was the adult version of chicken pox or something like that.
Hope your Sunday is more peaceful :)
