Today's travel to gymnastics snack, planned at 7am and served at 4pm, was 2 slices of ham rolled up into a cylinder and a bun. Just so. In separate containers - just the way it MUST always be.
But today?
Today he said, and I quote, "Mama, break the bun into half moons and put the ham in there and then squish it together. Please mama."
And my response, "HALLELUJAH!"
And he did in fact actually eat that sandwich. Simply a miracle out of left field.
Because until today nothing was allowed to touch the bread. NOTHING. Not honey or peanut butter or jam or cheese or butter or ham. Food must not ever touch or gagging and upchucking may occur. we have a whole lot of those divided plates in the kitchen shelf.
And today? Today the world shifted and maybe, just maybe, it will be a teeny tiny bit easier to feed the wee dude tomorrow.
--------------
In other exciting big boy news dude showered with a smile on his face. Rinsed his hair. Played. Sung. Mostly with mama outside of the bathroom rather than standing by the opened shower door forcing his head under the water to rinse the soap (the bathroom door was opened but he wanted privacy-you go guy).

These little developmental milestones, signs of comfort, bravery, independence, all signs my baby is growing up.
