So, someone says something or hears something from someone else who knows someone also adopting from your agency and that little bit of info gives you hope. But the hope always seems just a bit too far off in the distance. It is just around the next corner but when you turn that corner it is gone.
This describes the last 21 months. Hope was always just out of reach. Just around the next corner. No matter how fast I moved forward, hope could outrun me.
Not anymore.
I believe I've turned the last corner. I can see hope in the faces of close friends also waiting the never ending wait. I feel genuinely hopeful deep inside. This time the information is specific and spoken to people I trust by people I've grown to trust and it leads me to believe Benjaminh is waiting for me this very minute.
May he be held gently through the day, fed often by caring hands, comforted when necessary and put down to rest close by his friend BK. Mommy is coming.
