Baby.
Now?
Not so much.
Learning to crawl.
Feeling frustrated.
Now?
Not so much...
Growing and changing every day.
A few 22 month memories to note...
- The speech path said we would turn a language learning corner and I would recognize it because Ben would start to use words I had not expressly taught him to use... hmmm...like Daddy? To a large African fellow at the Walmart? The fellow's response..."Little fellow, I'm going out on a limb here but I think your daddy may have been Asian. Not African. But you have a nice wide African smile...and if you were mine I'd be a proud daddy." Sweet...but a wee bit awkward.
- Moving and moving and moving all day long. Climbing up and down the stairs on his little feet with no hands. Climbing to the very top of the park climbing equipment. Once or twice found standing on the arm of the living room armchair. Causing mama a bit of anxiety to be honest.
- Mama? Changed into Mommy last week and made mama very sad. I'm not looking forward to the day MO changes into NO. I will mourn that developmental milestone just like I wept when cows no longer said boo.
- Dude kisses mama all day long. And mama loves each and every one of those sloppy wet bits of love. And if the dude falls down or drops something and mama is in a crowd it better be mama that helps or the helper gets told off. Still cute...but may get irritating before too much longer.
- Loves his bath, loves his cars and trucks (carkeys and truckeys), eats like a champ- especially enjoying fruit (licking new foods before putting them into his mouth), will read books with mama for hours and hours...so mama only has one bin of 15 books out at a time...not all 4 bins.
- A joy. Practically all of the time. Sweet disposition, big smile, generous heart.

Oh that first little blurb made me laugh out loud. It's funny, but Aiden has not caught on to the word daddy yet. He's more into screaming "a man!". Other than that our boys are oh so similiar...and the mommy thing? Yeah, so sad. Aiden still goes back to mama sometimes. Why must they grow up so fast?
