A Journey...

35.ooo + 109.000 + 116.000 = lottsa taxi rides.

It was a journey to get to the end of the paperwork road today. Literally.

hotel to embassy back to hotel to passport office back to embassy and finally back to hotel.

Much of this running about could have been avoided...if I was in charge...but I'm not...so we ran.
(for those following, bring to the embassy>>$170 USD, baby's plane tickets, your own passport and info on two references for the citizenship paperwork).

And now, for the very last time, we wait (well except for the 15 hour layover in Seoul).

Benjaminh's application for Canadian Citizenship is zooming itself to Singapore by overnight courier. Someone in the Immigration Division will look it over, declare him a Canadian citizen and send an email to Paula at the Embassy here in Hanoi. Hopefully by early next week. Hanoi will then issue him a temporary passport.

Then, travel.

Hopefully by late next week.

Any number of things could and probably will go wrong but boy oh boy do I wish for a travel partner...on the never ending flight...with a very active and wiggly baby boy.

Keep your fingers crossed.

I'm glad the paper chase part is done. When preparing my binder for travel, I will make sure to put in a copy of this post so that we know what is needed at the embassy.

I really love that little outfit with the stripes. Ben looks almost like a little prisoner on his way to the embassy... hehe..

Now you get to just love Ben, experience him and explore that amazing city while you wait... no pressure. I hope the temporary passport comes in time for you to fly home with Kristen...

Thinking of you,
Jules

Fingers duly crossed.

More fabulous pictures.

Glad you liked Brothers.

If you can try to get to Hoa Sua. Only trick here is making sure that you have the current adddress. They moved about two years ago and a lot of guide books still have the old address.

Fabulous pictures!

Almost done. Terrific! What restaurant is that in the latest set of pictures? Is it very close to the hotel?

At any rate, now you can relax and just enjoy your time there. I guess you will relax more once that you know that you can travel with Kristen. Thinking of you all of the time. Liz

I was going to make a comment about Little B's outfit - the black and white strips, I see the invisible ball and chain around Mommies neck! LOL
Okay! I said it!
