It was a beautiful day in Hanoi.
It started with a night that contained 3 different 3 1/2 hour spans of sleeping which was a big improvement. And each time little guy was up he ate fairly well. Made for a happy start to the day.
We didn't venture far this morning, only over to the local Fivi Mart for diapers and formula. Not feeling real confident about the diapers but what can you do but work with what you are given.
The afternoon started well with a big nap (for Benjaminh...though I really wish I could have joined him) so I headed down to the lobby to apply for EI. The application wasn't brain surgery so it's done. While filling it in electronically little Elizabeth came for a visit with her new mommy and daddy. I promise to post pictures tomorrow because this little one is Liz's favourite from Hai Duong.
After the application was completed I returned home to hear the nap wasn't very nappish with a very distraught pooper...just use your imagination on this one and know prunes, a bit each day, is becoming a new norm.
A couple more hours of napping making for more than 3 hours in the afternoon, and we were off to Brother's Cafe. By far our favourite restaurant so far. The traffic getting there was something out of a bad movie and the taxi cost 38000 dong...we knew we were being taken for a ride when we passed the same park for a second time (it was only 21000 coming home).
Like I said, pictures will follow, but it was a late night and we are off to bed. Tomorrow is a big day with our trip to the embassy marking the final paperwork step in this journey. Once we submit Benjaminh's paperwork to the High Commission in Singapore (by courier tomorrow) all that is left to do is wait for his temporary Canadian Passport to arrive back at the hotel. Then we can change our flight and come home. The date that will happen is anyone's guess but anything is possible (I really want to be back for the event of the season...on the 31st...I love going to weddings where friends marry someone you actually like...hee hee)
Till tomorrow,
Bev and little Ben and Sherpa Kristen

This is all wonderful news.
Thank you so so much for continuing to post so much.
I showed Mai and Hannah the pictures of B last night. You could not believe the number of ohhhhhs and awwwwwws.
Mai immediately announced that she wanted to start a blog of her own (yikes) to "educate" people about adoption and could she use a picture of Baby B:)
Mary
I am looking forward to seeing pictures of Elizabeth. It is kind of funny that we have the same name given that she captured my heart at the orphanage.
The same thing happened to us regarding the taxi when we went to the Brothers cafe and the restaurant wasn't even open!!!!
Whenever Zack hears the music from your blog he comes running shouting BABY!!!! He loves to look at the pictures and tries to kiss the monitor. We laugh like crazy.
I cannot wait for him to meet B in person. Airport here we come. I am so excited that you may be home earlier than expected.
Hey,
I commented once on this... but it seems to have gone missing... somewhere in cyberspace or waiting for comment moderation?!?!?!?
Needless to say, the pictures are great!
Danny laughed very loudly when I finally read him this blog post last night... he had a crazy day at school and hadn't been able to check...
As always, thinking of you,
Jules
Since this just popped right up, I am guessing my other one is officially gone... mmmm... I wonder where it went.
Glad to see the comments don't need to wait anymore...
Jules
